Services: Consultancy and projects

My capacity for extra projects varies. Recently, the voluntary work with York Come Dancing took up the majority of my time. Detailed below are some of the options available and my current availability. Any enquiries, please see the contact page.

Media editing

Please note: At this time I do not have the capacity for any major media editing projects. However, please feel free to contact me to discuss your ideas.

Through work with URY and York Dancesport, I have done a lot of audio editing. Projects include simple cleaning up of a bad take, to more complex re-editing of music to a different duration. Video editing work is showcased on my YouTube Video Channel. A sample of radio work is available on this site.

Events photography

I'm not a professional photographer, but I have captured a few events, such as National Inter-University Ballroom and Latin Dance competitions (more on the York Dancesport site) and the Great Yorkshire Duck Race. If you like what I do and there's a public event (particularly in the York region) you think I may be interested in, then please do get in touch.

Creative commons photos

Provided on this site are many photos available for non-commercial use under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No-Derivatives licence. I have had requests for commercial use too and currently the following organisations are using photos with permission from this site:

Website consultancy

Note: this service is currently unavailable due to time constraints.

If you own a small website, in particular for a voluntary organisation or student society, I will take a look at your site and provide you, for free, a brief review of your site and any small steps you can take to improve it. Simply drop me an email requesting that you would like me to have a quick look and then within a week or two I should get back to you with some constructive comments. I am not a full blown consultancy company, so do not have the scope at this time to strip down a 300 page site, but I understand the importance that small organisations play in society so am willing to do a little work for free to improve their web presence. All that I'd ask in return would be a brief comment on whether you found the review useful or not, to be published on my site.

I will do a general overview including: any search engine optimisation (SEO) methods that could be used, how well it works on different browsers (only within the Windows OS - I don't yet have a Mac!), how well it is structured, if the navigation makes sense, is the design aesthetically pleasing (always subjective is that one), any obvious accessibility issues. I will upload a template document I will use to check sites in due course.
